We have intentionally held off on showing screenshots of “ClearMechanic Premium,” our newest product line, because it has been in beta for just over two months. But, given the strong results to date, we plan on publicizing this product line in the lead-up to NADA.
ClearMechanic Premium is a mobile software program that allows service centers to send real-time vehicle photos and explanatory content to their customers. This software takes the sting out of the repair process by educating customers and providing hard evidence for service recommendations. A common use case for ClearMechanic Premium would be offering photographic evidence of worn tires or rusted brake pads, along with diagrams and images explaining how these parts should work. When a service advisor makes the dreaded phone call recommending several hundred dollars of repair work, customers now have visual evidence and content to help understand the recommendation.
We have been particularly happy with the creativity shown by our service center customers. Leaks, rust and cracks are clear-cut cases where our program can help. Beyond these, technicians have used our mobile camera software to take photos of battery readings and other test readings. It’s difficult to find more definitive evidence than a battery test print-out that reads “Failed” or “Replace Battery.” See a few attached screen shots from today, in which a Toyota technician took a photo showing the customer’s fuel pump gauge.
More information on ClearMechanic Premium will become available in coming weeks.
