Below is a step-by-step tutorial for removing a ClearMechanic inspection photo or video from your website. Please note that this is different from permanently deleting the inspection photo or video. We store all inspection photos and videos in your Private Dashboard so they can be used for follow-up marketing, insurance, warranty and liability purposes. This tutorial simply allows you to "hide" the inspection photo and make it completely private.
Step #1: Log into your Private Dashboard.
In your welcome e-mail, you were provided with a user name and password for the ClearMechanic Private Dashboard. The URL for your Private Dashboard is in the format "www.clearmechanic.com/yourshopname/dashboard". Go ahead and log in.
Step #2: In your Private Dashboard, search for the Repair Order with the inspection photo or video to be removed.
Use the search filters in the Private Dashboard to find the Repair Order with photos or videos to be removed from your website. You can search by Repair Order number, as we have done in the screenshot below, or search by repair type, date, user name and so on.
Step #3: Select the "View Details" link (the one with the magnifying glass icon) to view the details for the RO.
Step #4: At the bottom of the Repair Details page, "uncheck" any inspection photo you want removed from your website. Then click the "Save Changes" button.
You're done! Check your shop website and the inspection photo is no longer there. This also means the consumer cannot view the inspection photo if you previously sent an e-mail or text message. The photo is completely private now.
